There are three ways to use a template to create a new takeoff on a project.:

Manually link a project takeoff to a takeoff template

Create a takeoff from the templates panel

Click on "Templates" in the right side of your page to open the "Templates" panel. Open your templates folders to find the desired takeoff template.

Click on the button that appears to the left of the takeoff template name to create a new takeoff from this template.

  1. Click on the button at the left of “Templates” in the superior right corner of the screen

  2. Click on “Sample templates”

  3. Click on the folder in which you want to add a template

  4. Move your mouse over the name of the template of your choice to make appear the icon at the left of name of the template, then click on it

  5. A new takeoff will appear in the left panel

  1. of the desired type (area, linear or count) by using the

  1. toolbar at the top of the screen

  2. Start typing the name of

  1. an ascending list will appear

  2. Choose from this list the template you want to use and click on it

Manually link a takeoff project to a takeoff template

If you don't remember the name of your template, you can search through the templates folders to link it to an existing takeoff item. 

In the takeoff properties of your takeoff project item, click on the template button, then click on "Link to a template".

Search through the takeoff folders (hint: click on a folder to open its content) until you find the desired takeoff template.

Select the takeoff template, then click on the green button "Link to template".

  1. Choose the takeoff that you want to link to your template and click on the icon beside the name of the takeoff in your “Takeoff properties”

  2. Click on “Link to a template” in the new menu that opened

  3. Open the “Sample Templates” folder by clicking on it

  4. Open the folder the template you want to use is in

  5. Select the template of your choice

  6. Remove or add a check mark in the box beside “Overwrite takeoff properties with template properties” at the bottom of the window depending on what you want

  7. Click on the yellow button “Link to template” and your takeoff will automatically associate to your selected template
